Bicultural People

Biculturalism refers to the experience of living with two or more cultures. Bicultural individuals often navigate complex social, psychological, and identity-related challenges as they attempt to integrate different cultural values, beliefs, and behaviors into their daily lives. Biculturalism can arise due to a variety of reasons, such as migration, intermarriage, or adoption, and it can lead to unique strengths and insights. However, it can also present challenges, such as feeling a sense of not fully belonging to either culture or struggling to reconcile cultural differences. As such, the study of bicultural people and their experiences can provide valuable insights into cultural diversity, identity development, and social integration.

I have been working on the study of bicultural people since 2014. My interest is rooted in my own situation, because I have always moved between two cultures, Nigerian and Hungarian, due to my origins. My research focuses on the social integration, identity and relationships of bicultural people.
